Sept. 3rd event in Sugar Land with a TON of candidates!
All three of Fort Bend's congressional candidates will be there, plus a bunch of statewides and all of our local candidates!

I hope you can be there and if not, please spread the word! I blogged about it here:

http://muse-musings.blogspot.com/2006/08/sept-3rd-meet-candidates-that-will.html

The details -

On Sunday evening, September 3rd from 6:00 - 8:30 at the Sugar Land Community Center, Fort Bend Democrats are having a good ole Texas bar-be-que with the local and statewide candidates. Congressman Al Green has agreed to be the keynote speaker. Nick Lampson, Shane Sklar, Barbara Ann Radnofsky, Chris Bell, David VanOs, Hank Gilbert, Jim Sharp, Dora Olivo, Rudy Velasquez, Farhan Shamsi, Albert Hollan, Veronica Torres, and Neeta Sane have all committed to being there.

KANDO will hold a silent auction at the event to benefit all their great works in Katy, and The Texas Democratic Women Fort Bend Chapter will be selling desserts to raise funds for their organization.

The tickets for this event directly benefits our local candidates. Ticket are $20 advance payment at the headquarters or $25 at the door. You can call the headquarters at 281-238-9006 to reserve your tickets!

Directions to Sugar Land Community Center: Go 59 South to Hwy 6, turn right on 6 and then right on Brooks. Or exit Hwy 90 from 59 South, right on 90 and then left on Brooks. Easy!

1. Great event
I'll be there, m., after judging brisket at the AFL-CIO BBQ in Pasadena earlier in the day. :bounce:

:patriot:La Marcha is the next morning, and the
BAND HQ opening :dem: is Monday night.

Labor Day is the kickoff :kick: of the political season, people. Show your support by showing up. Democrats have every reason to be loud and proud, and the ones still wallowing in discouragement will take cheer when they see others represent. Wear your shirt, your buttons, slap a bumper sticker on your car (one is enough; I know how freaky some of you can get) and turn out.

Your children and grandchildren will thank you for it later.
