Sept. 19, March with DFKE in the Alan Ross Freedom Parade. The 23rd annual Alan Ross Freedom Day Parade will take place on Sunday, September 19th, in the Oaklawn neighborhood of Dallas. There will be 12,000 - 15,000 spectators and we hope to have a very large presence of Kerry supporters at the event. We will be concentrating our efforts in three key areas on that day:
• Lee Park - We will be staffing a table in Lee Park with people who can register voters and sign people up for our email list. We will also be selling Kerry Gear.
• Cedar Springs Road - We will have people walking along the parade route passing out Kerry stickers as well as forms to register voters and/or add them to our email list.
• Parade - We are hoping to have at least 100 Kerry supporters marching in the parade holding Kerry/Edwards signs and cheering on the elected officials and candidates marching in the parade with us.
WHERE TO MEET: 3227 McKinney Ave. - The Residences on McKinney (intersection of McKinney Ave. & Hall in Uptown).
WHEN TO MEET: Sunday September 19th, 12:30 PM.

Precinct 2205 is a heavily Democratic area that traditionally has had very low voter turnout. There is big potential here - we just need to get people registered. We will meet at the Wendy's (attached to an Exxon station) located at the northeast corner of LBJ and Forest Ln (9501 Forest) at 2 pm, Sunday, Sept. 19. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a clip-board, if you have one. Call Meg at 972-588-3366 with questions. Please let us know if you'll be able to join us and how many volunteers you think you can bring along. Thanks, Meg Kimberland (972-588-3366), Chris Coleman (214-492-3934), or Nancy Caveness (214-384-9811)
