Goodlatte (R-06) has challengers!
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 05:32 PM by AlecBGreen
This district is quite conservative, even for red Virginia.

Goodlatte Finally Has Challenge

Congressman Bob Goodlatte is facing a challenger for his 6th district congressional seat in the upcoming election. Two candidates, independent(s) Andre Peery of Salem and Barbara Pryor of Amherst County have both filed to run.

"I always try and stay close to my constituents to see what they have to say about issues," says Goodlatte. "I'm doing that all the time and a campaign affords me an opportunity to do that and listen to their views on what we are doing in Washington."

This is the first time Goodlatte has had an opponent since 1998

edit - Pryor is listed as an independent, not a Democrat. My bad.
