Anti "surge" protests
There will be a citizen's rally held in Bellingham tomorrow, Thursday, January 11th, at 12:00 noon at the Federal Building, corner of Cornwall and Magnolia, downtown. This will be part of a nationwide response to tonight's announcement by George Bush that will likely outline plans for a troop increase in Iraq.

The rally will be held in front of the building. US Congressman Rick Larsen's office is located on the 2nd floor of this building, so feel free to compose a letter to him and drop it off.

MoveOn members have already organized hundreds of Emergency Rallies to Stop Escalation in Iraq for tomorrow night. We really need to have a strong turnout at these rallies so the message is heard loud and clear: Escalation is the wrong answer. Can you attend a rally near you in Mercer Island tomorrow?

Here are the details:

No Escalation -- End This War

Momentum is on our side-263,200 of us have signed the petition and we've made 8,100 calls to Congress opposing escalation and this is just the beginning. The next step is to take our message to the public square with these rallies. All you have to do is show up to the event closest to you-the host will have signs and leaflets to pass out.

Stopping escalation is an important part of a strategy to getting out of Iraq. "Stay the Course" was rejected by the voters. If escalation is repudiated that leaves only one option: a responsible exit.

We're going to take our message to the doorsteps of congressional offices across the country. We really need you with us. Click below to sign up.
