1. We still have bits around and agree it was really pretty.
Have fun playing up high in the snow!

2. Oddly, we still have this tiny patch on our lawn.
Yes, it's way too warm for it to still be there but yet it hangs on. :D

4. Try dealing with it everyday!!!
ha ha I love the snow or I wouldn't live here but the mush and gunk gets to ya after awhile....

I live in Leavenworth out in the country. I missed yours but husband had to drive to Sea Tac and said it was first time he had snow the whole way there. I would have liked to have seen that.

5. But now that the snow and ice are gone, SDOT *really* needs to send out
the sweepers to clear all of the sand and gravel off of the streets, especially on the hills and in the intersections where it presents a severe hazard to anyone on motorcycles, scooters, or bicycles.

Trying to turn a motorcycle around a corner when you're not expecting to hit a patch of very small ball-bearings (sand) can be pretty dangerous. I stopped on a hill in West Seattle the other day and the bike started sliding backwards, back down the hill, on the sand, until I muscled it in to the curb to stop myself. On the same street I saw a Jeep spinning wheels as it attempted to go up the hill. Try it on two wheels and you can imagine the extent of the problem.

I used the web request form for Greasy Greg's office and the Citizens Service Bureau on Monday. I got a response (if you can call it that) today, that they expect to hear back from SDOT "within approximately two weeks". (Unless someone dumps their bike and hurts themselves or someone else, I guess, then they might actually clean up some of the sand a little sooner, maybe, if they feel like it, and if they actually get around to it.)

At least it's on record and has been reported as a problem, so I guess they are willing to accept the liability by NOT cleaning it all up.
