Randolph County Democratic Politics is starting to stink...
We're seeing lots of weird stuff going on with the local Executive Committee as well as the race for County Clerk (13 candidates!). For example with the County Clerk race, there has been lots of talk of impropriety between the head of the local party and his son-in-law who is running for Clerk.

Two Links: a scan of the letter written to every candidate plus to Nik Casey head of the WV party:

Then some more followup:

1. Looks like Randolph Co politics as usual....
It seems that RanCo has a unusually hard time keeping crooked folks out of the County positions (*cough* Rozetta Lloyd *cough*). Good on ya for keeping an eye on local politics!

Good to see a Elkins cat on DU! I was born, raised and still have family in Elkins.

3. party in transistion

So odd things are afoot in Randolph County. The former head Lynn Phillips, suddenly resigned, and with him 3-4 other committee members who were just elected stepped down.
Appointed the current chairman is a young turk who worked the Kerry Campaign and has a lot more energy. He needs to connect with more democrats, especially the younger ones.

It's unclear why the former head stepped down, because Nick Casey doesn't have the power to yank their chain. Maybe because of ties to the manchin mansion.

Elkins Representin', Yo!
