Swing State blog is watching 2nd district primary tomorrow
They like Mike Callaghan and lists the reasons for their support

http://www.swingstateproject.com/2006/05/wv02_mike_calla.php

they also say

But just a cautionary word on the other two Dems in this race. One of them, Mark Hunt, gave the Raelian cult half a million bucks to try to clone his son. I swear that I am not kidding about that. The other is Richie Robb, who was a Republican until just a few months ago, and most recently came in fourth in the GOP primary for governor with a whopping 10% of the vote. We need to put our best foot forward in a race like this, and neither Hunt nor Robb qualifies.

1. and CQ says
http://www.cqpolitics.com/2006/05/wv_callaghan_expected_to_win_p.html

Though Capito has been personally popular, she will not enjoy as much cover this year from Bush, whose approval ratings have declined here as elsewhere. CQPolitics.com has changed its rating of the West Virginia 2 race to Republican Favored from Safe Republican.

2. Today's the day!
I'm a goon from Boone, so I can't vote in District 2. But I hope Callaghan gets the nomination because I think he has the best chance of defeating Smelly Snore Crappytoe. I think he's too closely aligned with the DINO faction in the state. But, it's better to have any Democrat in office than get stuck with a puke.

FYI, sample ballots are available here at the Secretary of State web site, but only for some counties. I'm printing out Clay county right now. Make sure you select only the pages you want if you decide to print one of these ballots. Otherwise you'll get the repuke and independent ballots too, and that would waste a boatload of paper.

They didn't do a very good job at the above web site, but it's the best sample ballot web site I could find.

idiot voters went for the guy who could buy the most ads. robb, the one with the real record came in last.
expect capito to win the same way she got into office-on the sole fact that her opponent is an unlikeab;le ass

Edited on Wed May-10-06 05:24 AM by Hubert Flottz

WV was FOOLED BY A GHOUL again!

EDIT...At least Shellie can't say the strange geek ain't pro life!

10. Callaghan is up by 1300 votes
I can't imagine Mark Hunt being the nominee

if he is, we might as well hand the election to Little Arch right now

12. The fat lady has sung - Callaghan won!
WSAZ News reports a Callaghan victory, with 600 of 629 precincts reporting (95%}:

Mike Callaghan 18,490 37%
Mark Hunt 16,186 33%
Richie Robb 15,084 30%

http://www.wsaz.com/elections

Looks like Smelly has a contest on her hands now, and no Hamper or Abramoff to run to for more dirty money. Maybe she will ask the wildly popular Elmer Cheney to come in and endorse her.

I await November with eager anticipation.
