Dick Cheney's Incest Joke Irks West Virginian Lawmakers
UPDATE: Vice President Dick Cheney has apologized through his spokeswoman for making an offhand joke during a speech at the National Press Club Monday stereotyping West Virginia as a state prone to incest.

Cheney spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride tells us, "The Vice President's offhand comment was not meant to hurt anyone. On reflection, he concluded that it was an inappropriate attempt at humor that he should not have made. The Vice President apologizes to the people of West Virginia for the inappropriate remark."

Cheney's statement came after West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin added his voice to the chorus of outrage from Mountain State politicians and demanded an apology from the veep.

"I truly cannot believe that any vice president of the United States, regardless of their political affiliation, would make such a derogatory statement about my state or any state for that matter," Machin said in a statement. "West Virginia is home to some of the most patriotic people in the nation and our sons and daughters have answered the call to duty every time a president has needed their service. They deserve better from the vice president, and so I would simply ask for his apology."

And this from Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.): "West Virginians are the hardest working, most decent people I know. Anyone who spends time with them gets it. The Vice President should be more careful about cheap shots aimed at the very people who elected him."

Did Dick Cheney just hand West Virginia to the Democrats, or what?
'Cause his remark at the National Press Club today is bound to rub plenty of folks in the Mountain State the wrong way, especially those who are sick and tired of hearing West Virginia incest jokes. Already, members of the West Virginia congressional delegation - Republicans and Democrats alike - are ticked off.

1. He needs to take a look at Texas and the Fundies 12 year old
brides. The Wild Wild West gets wilder all the time with Dick's fundie buddies ensconced in a half dozen spots out there. I wonder how many 12 year old bride's honeymoons the taxpayers have sponsored lately through Bush's & Dick's "faith based" give-aways(vote buying)and Cheney's famous no bid government contracts?(more vote buying)

I think the  himself must have made a few hot-n-spicy booty calls on Cheney's mamma back in the day...

Cheney needs to take his own advice and "Go &%$@ Himself!

2. Cheney and Incest ---- Impeachment Hearings
There are Articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney in the House Judiciary Committee (H.Res 333 / 799), where they have been "off the table", for the past few months thanks to Pelosi, Conyers and others. The Democratic "leadership" (excuse me while I gag) has in essence forbidden citizens of America from having the impeachment hearings for Cheney they want.

Representative Robert Wexler of Florida, the same person who was in the news last week calling for sworn testimony from McClellan and then supporting Obama in Florida, has had a web page out there for awhile where Americans who feel like he does that Cheney impeachment hearings should take place may put their names on the line. It is free and it is quick. People should not get second thoughts because it is connected to his re-election site; afterall he is a politician. And if he can profit politically by backing impeachment hearings then more power to him! But no one has to give a cent to his campaign. Only a minimum of data is required.

http://www.WexlerWantsHearings.com

And please, if you yourself want hearings, spread this link over the internet because the millions of people who would like impeachment to take place will never learn about Wexler's web page on the evening news or in their local newspapers. Spread the link, please, to all kinds of internet web sites - auto, sea food, coffee, tennis, religious, s _ x, and any you ever visit. Those of us who want this to happen probably agree in few areas of life. But we agree on at least one thing: that we need to proceed with Cheney impeachment hearings.
