Just listen to letter-writer xxxxxxxx from Merrill. I wonder if she knows where Pearl Harbor is? I doubt it, as she seems to have forgotten the 3,000 people who died when we were attacked in this country.

Incompetence in New Orleans? Never mind that a useless mayor and governor did nothing while hundreds of school buses sat idle, after they had been warned. Of course, after they were under water, George Bush was to blame.

The environment in this country is far cleaner today that it was when I worked on the Great Lakes waterways. I saw Lake Erie so dirty you could not fish in, swim in or drink it. Lake Michigan was no better. Today these waters are clean.

Yes, someone should step up to the plate. Little miss-do-gooder and her friends should step up and apologize to a lot of fine soldiers who are putting themselves in harm's way so they can have the right to give encouragement to terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere in the world.

After the original letter appeared I called the author and thanked her for her great letter - it was factual, something that can't be said about this letter. I'm in the process of writing a response to this idiot but if anyone else feels so inclined fire away.

1. I wrote my letter and e-mailed it in

if they don't print it soon I'll post what I wrote - I posted one here right after I submitted in and they regretted it since it was on the web. They felt I had copied it. After I assured them that I had written it and posted it at my usual hunts they did run it.

2. We get a couple of those a week

in the Sheboygan press.They never let the facts get in the way of their beliefs.Often they throw in some scripture to further blur the facts.It's pathetic.I can't read the paper too close to bedtime or I can't sleep I'm so mad.I just can't believe they are so ignorant.

they haven't even called to verify I wrote it. Sometimes they wait so long that by the time they do run it the letter is so dated it doesn't make sense anymore.
