WTAQ talk show host's future unknown
Lawton talks about decision to drop out

Bader suspended over Lawton report

GREEN BAY - WTAQ radio talk show host Jerry Bader has been suspended for two weeks because of a story he reported on the station’s Web site regarding Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton.

Station manager Duke Wright made the announcement on air Thursday morning. Wright said Bader would be on vacation Thursday and Friday, and would begin serving the suspension Monday. Bader’s future status with the station was to be decided after that.

Bader has since retracted the report which claimed Lawton dropped out of the 2010 governor's race because she was involved in an extramarital affair which was about to come to light. Lawton vehemently denied the report, calling the allegations “gross.”

Network programming took the place of Bader's show Thursday morning.

2. The faux station is just a TV report of the radio station WTAQ
The radio station airs Rush, Hannity, Savage, Levin, Beck, plus other RWNuts w/ no need for the truth or accuracy. I wonder why the truth is so important to them in this case?

4. perhaps a fox station with a lawyer
i would imagine there is pressure to be controversial.
there is pressure to be on the cutting edge to gain listeners.
I would imagine there is pressure to follow in the footsteps of their national draws--to out beck glenn beck, to be more savage than savage.
When you need to push the limits sometimes you bet burned.
And if you get burned, your station will distance themselves away from you faster than a speeding bullet.
Sucks to be him.

Gee,
maybe now he will learn why medical insurane for the unemployed is important.
maybe he will learn that pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps is really damn hard when there are no jobs.
maybe he will learn that he is no longer part of the middle class and his direction was not up.

nah
he sounds like a right wing radio blowhard-won't learn nothing and somehow this will be Obama's fault.

5. Lawton is hinting at possible legal repercussions.
Nothing like a good lawsuit to make even blowhard, lying sack, wing nuts back peddle. I hope they fire his ass.

I used to listen to this AM station for a few minutes early in the morning, before bader and limpballs came on, just to catch the local news and Letterman's Top Ten from the night before. When Letterman made those cracks about palin's daughter at the baseball game they took Letterman off the schedule...and me off their listener list! Haven't been back.

6. Jerry Bader used to work at WHBL here in Sheboygan.
And he was pretty much run of the mill, read-the-news-and-weather guy.

So this story does surprise me.
