1. Excited...
It's looking like Chris Larson ousted that corporate-lobbyist owned Jeff Plale. I'm so entirely excited by this! :D

2. Exhilaration for Larson, despair for Moews
Now we have to make sure Larson wins in November. He will shake things up in Madison. :woohoo:

Not sure what to do about voting for sheriff. Last time I actually voted for the Republican, who seemed like a decent lawman. The current Republican candidate deplores all of Clarke's faults, which is a start, but his homemade website isn't encouraging.

3. I purposely sat out the Sheriff's Race
Both of them are Republicans. Moews voted for Bush over Kerry because he wanted a "tough guy". That type of logic to me is not the open minded type of thinker I want in charge of a job loaded with snap decision situations.

So I abstained.

4. So we'll have Clarke again for four years
Did Clarke vote for Bush? I'd guess he did. Moews at least would not, just to pick one of many examples, bring in people to preach religion at rollcalls, thus triggering a civil rights suit by the deputies and costing the county many thousands of dollars when he lost the case.

5. A similar problem in Chippewa County.
Our incumbent Democrat was one of the speakers at our JJ dinner, and ended up talking about his recent visit to Joe Arpaio and how impressed he was by Arpaio's tent city ("probably too cold in the winter to actually do that in Chippewa"), the pink underwear, and the whole bit. I don't really know what to do on that one in Nov. Guess I'll have to find out more about the R candidate & maybe actually vote for him if he seems somewhat saner. Otherwise I'll just leave it blank. I don't want this guy on my conscience.
