Hey all, I haven't been around DU much lately, because I've been busy with my new almost full-time volunteer(of course, what else is new?) job, helping to create the Democratic Unity Group of Dane County.

It all began back in March, at our Clark House Party (held to help raise campaign recovery bucks), when a few of the most wonderful Clarkies (including me!) decided that we needed to do SOMETHING to get to work to get the chimp out of our White House.

So, we approached a few of the hard-core long-term Kerry supporters, and asked, "What should we do???" Well, first of all, these Kerry folks turned out to be the absolute greatest people in the world (next to Clarkies, of course). We invited other campaign representatives to join us, and we now have the Democratic Unity Group, endorsed by the Democratic Party of Dane County. We have people from the Kerry, Clark, Dean and Edwards campaigns, and the promise of Kucinich people as soon as he... well, IF he drops out.

We will serve as the rallying point for ALL Democrats who want to get bush out of our White House, whether you're ready to jump on the Kerry bandwagon, or just willing to help to register some voters. Even if you're not from Dane County, join in!!! Ewag - I know you're reading this, so I expect to see your name on the Yahoo list TONIGHT!

We are planning a major Democratic Unity Celebration on June 12 (date tentative) in Madison. We have agreements (though not yet in concrete) for Russ and Tammy to speak, and we'll have music and food.

We are a positive, proactive group that will help to provide a transition from supporting 10 different candidates to supporting one candidate for the General Election - to get bush and his cronies out of our White House!

1. Isn't the state convention June 11 - 12?

I think the convention ends early in the afternoon on the 12th, though, so it looks like a busy weekend for Russ & Tammy.

I'm in Waukesha County myself (attending my party meeting tomorrow, so I'll see what's up on this end). I'll let the county party know about your group.

are you kidding me??? This is not funny. I just got a call earlier today that it was being moved from the 5th to the 12th because of BobFest, but I can't imagine they didn't think of the State Conv. when re-scheduling...

at this point I'm the one rolling my eyes. Indeed, the Chair of our County Dems was misinformed...

So, like I said,
