Widely known restaurateur Sally Papia was seriously injured in a traffic accident that killed her daughter in Waukesha County over the weekend.

Candy Papia, 51, died when the car she was driving struck a tree about 3 p.m. Saturday on County Highway D, south of Dousman.


Sally Papia, 75, was taken to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa.


"All I know is she is in intensive care, comatose," said Sally Papia's sister-in-law, Vivian Papia.
