Feingold campaign appearance Milwaukee Monday May 24th 11AM
at the downtown MATC outside their student center. Just received word by a staffer he will be present for a campaign "kickoff". Maybe he is waiting to start airing television commercials until next Monday too. I haven't seen any yet, but am not watching much tv these days. Russ Darrow has yet to put forth his vision for our state in his tv ads, saving his breath to go negative from the start. What an easy candidate Darrow would be.

4. it's funny
because in Feingold's initial run for the Senate, he was endorsed by Darrow, who donated money to his campaign as recent as 2000. There are newspaper quotes of Darrow talking about how great a guy Feingold is. I live in the same building as Feingold's Milwaukee Field Coordinator and if I remember correctly, he mentioned that those quotes will probably be used in commercials.

personally i'd like to see feingold do a parody of those stupid car commercials that i always see for darrow.

2. Absolutely.
Darrow's ads have been nothing but smears against Feingold.

Saying that Feingold "votes against WI values, against America, and against George Bush."

6. Will any DU'ers be there?
I really doubt I can fit this event in, but would love to be surrounded by like minded politically active people. Hope someone from this board will go to give us an update post event. I just can't swing this event. x(

9. Milw J/S article on kickoff
"I was against the Iraq invasion because I felt it would detract from the fight against terrorism. And guess what? That's exactly what it did," he said.

<snip>

At the Milwaukee rally, Feingold, 51, also gave the broad outlines of a plan to require states to submit plans to move toward universal health coverage, modeled on the health benefits provided to members of Congress. He said he would introduce a bill that would force Congress into a vote on some form of health care reform next year.
