How long is Harper going to govern?
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 11:49 PM by Cascadian
Well at least it's not a majority Tory government. So the question stands. How long before Harper will have to call another election? I can only hope the NDP, Liberals, and the Bloc join together to keep the Tories in check. Also, the Liberals need to clean house and have new leadership if they are ever going to regain power. I do not think Harper will be trying to pull off any right-wing agenda with just a minority government.

1. yah, no creepy agenda stuff and he'll only serve to demonstrate
what a poor leader he really is. he's from the far right of the party and will learn very quickly that he won't be able to get much done without some serious compromise. he's gonna sink the conservatives i think.

3. I think he will pounce on the first "scandal" issue he can
And call a snap election.

It may be the upcoming Gomery report. Alternatively, the Conservatives may devote all their energies to going through every little item of government business of the last 12 years to accuse the Liberals of more corruption. With the levers of power and a compliant media they might be quite effective.

I don't see much real governing getting done in the next while.

4. What time is it?
He's going to have to learn a hard lesson in CONSENSUS if he plans to be around for any time.

Put the social engineering aside. Trudeau settled this matter YEARS ago.
