Alberta Chamber of Resources AGM and Luncheon
The barrel of bitumen that sells for $25 would sell for $53 when upgraded to synthetic crude oil. When refined into gasoline, that barrel would sell for $81. And if processed into styrene, it would command a price of $190 a barrel.

Our projections are that the kind of complex I’m talking about would generate an additional $50 billion per year in Alberta’s gross domestic product.

Developing the value-added upgrading sector would also make Alberta’s economy more resilient to the usual ups and downs of the resource sector.

That means long-term growth and prosperity that would benefit everyone in this room, and everyone in this province.

So now it is becoming apparent that that liberal Kline is being moved out. He wants something that he has no right to ask for.
