Toronto Sun: Rae predicts 'major confrontation' when Parliament resumes
OTTAWA — Opposition MPs won’t shy away from punishing the Conservative government when Parliament resumes in March if it does not hand over crucial documents, they said Wednesday.

Liberal foreign affairs critic Bob Rae predicted a “major confrontation” was looming between opposition parties and the government.

“We are pretty close to a banana republic and a banana democracy here,” Bloc Quebecois defence critic Claude Bachand said.

Liberal, NDP and Bloc MPs say Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government is violating the Canadian Constitution by refusing to release documents they lawfully demanded using a rare parliamentary privilege.

2. I'd like to see Bob Rae as leader of the Liberals.
He's more than just a placemat at the table.

3. Well the NDP hates him, so do unions
and so does Ontario, so I doubt he'd have much chance.

4. I sure hope so!
They all need to hammer the assholes when Parliament is back in session. Harper and his cabal made a BIG miscalculation (not uncommon with him, imo) when he thought Canadians wouldn't notice his anti-democratic moves including proroguing Parliament as evidenced by his plunging poll numbers so NOW is the time to be 'in their faces' from day one.

6. I certainly hope it will
The opposition needs some notochords here at least.

Also, I sort of love the faint suspicion that Harper would consider an immediate prorogation in March if the opposition started making no-con noises again. I'm not sure I can entirely dismiss that possibility, which amuses me for some reason.
