Hey, how's your weather been?
Edited on Mon Jun-21-10 09:42 AM by polly7
I don't remember ever seeing worse rain / hail storms than we've had here lately. Toonie sized hail every second night, the rain is washing out highways near bridges ...... it never quits. Maple Creek, a giant sink-hole took out part of the Trans Canada. I just want it to stop (never, ever thought I'd be saying that here in S Sask.).

1. It's been beautiful here (St. Albert, Alberta) ....
we had some rain last week but nothing to write home about, so to speak. It is supposed to be nice all week. I hope the rain stops for you, I have been reading about the flooding in your neck of the woods and the closure of the Trans Canada.

2. That's great to hear.
I'm actually from SE Saskatchewan where it's normally just as dry as the Swift Current area, but we're seeing more really bad storms here too. Hopefully they will quit soon. Quite a few farmers never got all of their fields planted. My nephew had some of his mostly washed away. It's going to be an interesting year.

3. Beautiful. Here in Toronto, we haven't had to call in the CAF or anything to help shovel.
I hope the folks back home in Saskatchewan made the dugouts extra deep, 'cause of course there'll probably be a drought next year. That's life on the farm, though, at least till the bank forecloses, anyway.

11. You're so right.
Yes, the dugouts are overflowing, next year they may be too low ..... at least this year the hay crops here will be good. Here where it's so flat, we're just not used to flooding, heck you can see your dog running away from home for three days. (Not really, but for a long, long time!) Who ever expected our little creeks and streams to suddenly become mini-rivers? It does look nice though ....... so green and lush.

4. Vancouver's been moderately rainy and cool
for the most part. Last year June was really sunny and warm. The good summer weather usually kicks in by the end of June.

Would be nice if they could accurately forecast more than about 12 hours out, too. If the forecast 2 days ahead is for nothing but sun, that really means 50% chance of rain, and vice versa.

5. LOL too true...
On my 'home page', it has a section with the current weather in St. Albert. Yesterday, it showed rain showers occurring but it was nothing but sun outside, lol.

13. LOL I noticed that the other day too .
The weather network had it raining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky (I'm just south of Edmonton). Must've been a glitch, lol. I told my mom the automatic sprinklers probably came on too close to the sensors.

7. Normal
Just wait 5 minutes and it will change.
At the moment there is a tornado watch from environment Canada for areas south east of Edmonton. 58% humidity.

On the north slowly clouding over. Environment Canada continually forecasts 30% chance of rain. Seems like they are continually wrong. Guess that they don't want to provide a peoples forecast. One has to pay to get a real forecast.

14. ugh, not a fan of humidity.
I love the low humidity where I am. Whenever we make a trip to south-east Manitoba (every few years for family reunions) I find it really humid and uncomfortable, like the air is too thick to breathe. Then my aunt from Toronto tells me how dry it is in Manitoba compared to T.O. yikes! I couldn't handle it. I'd rather have 38 degrees with 10% humidity and strong winds, than 20 degrees and 90% humidity and no wind. yuck!

Flood emergency declared in Yorkton, Sask.

About 100 families were forced from their homes when water poured into their basements. More left their houses Friday morning and sought shelter."
