Is Stephen Harper stoned or what?
Looks like he's aiming to bring down the governemnt on Tuesday. Link.

What's he thinking? He's gonna get a minority government? Where are the seats coming from? Quebec? (C'est ca! Parce que le parti conservateur est tres sexie et tout le monde aime cet vrai champion du Quebec, Stockwell Day.) Ontario? (All the grits need to do is run a few ads that use the words conservative and Mike Harris in the same sentence.) Everywhere else? Haven't they pretty much hit their ceiling of support?

Isn't he aware that when a campaign starts, he and his merry band of wingnuts will actually have to declare their positions on the issues instead of rambling on about Gomery? Or is he so naive that he doesn't realize he'll plummet in the polls when this happens?

If the trigger gets pulled tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised if the CPC wind up losing about 10-15 seats in the ensuing election.

1. Not tomorrow
The Tories are trying to topple the government based on recommendations to committes.

The Grits aren't recognizing it, and neither do I.

had gotten ahold of some of the gravel left over from the 'cooking of the tar sands' and had encircled him or something after realizing that he is having an extramarital affair with neocons.

Cause I really think Harper needs to know a whole lot more about tribalism. Since he that is what he is selling..he should experience it a bit.

3. Harper doesn't have anything to offer the electorate
He'll just keep beating his chest, because that's all he can do to still appear relevant.

4. I think this was on Politics last week...
...in the afternoon on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, I'm not sure (and you can go to the CBC's website and watch a streaming archived version of it until they replace it on the same day meaning a week later so if you want to watch Wednesday's you better watch it before this Wednesday) which day, but Robin Sears said something about the Conservatives being to far engaged in this endevour to back down now. I think he's right. The Conservatives have wasted a lot of political capital trying to bring down the goverment, and they keep saying it's corrupt and has lost the moral authority to govern. So if they want to be truthful about it they ought to try to bring down the goverment, even if they're down in the polls.

5. I think that recent poll saying 57% of Canadians believe
Harper and his faux Conservatives have a HIDDEN agenda and don't trust him is a good indicator that the Cons won't gain votes the Liberals may lose and, in fact, there were some ridings where the Cons barely won and could lose because of forcing an election Canadians don't want.
