Brighton fans protest at party conference
Who needs anti-war protestors eh?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/4280718.stm

Thousands of football supporters are to march past the Labour Party Conference centre on Monday to urge John Prescott to rule in favour of a new stadium.

About 5,000 Brighton and Hove Albion fans who want a new stadium at Falmer are expected at the march in Brighton.

The club first submitted a planning application for a 22,000-seater stadium at Falmer in 2001 but, after a lengthy public inquiry, is still waiting for the deputy prime minister to rule on whether building can go ahead. A verdict is expected by the end of October.

A separate demonstration is planned by 100 former steelworkers who lost their pensions when ASW in Sheerness, Kent, went into liquidation in 2002. Some of the steelworkers also plan a Full Monty movie-style striptease.

2. If only people cared as much about real life
as they do about football, eh?

3. But they stand a chance of getting Blair on their side
It's when it's a subject close to his heart, like invading a country and killing 25,000 people, that he won't pay any attention to 2 million people marching.

4. Shankly's Law:
Some people believe football is a matter of life and death.

I'm very disappointed with that attitude.

I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.
