Did anybody else watch "The Virgin Daughters" on Ch 4 last night?

Those "purity balls" have been discussed a few times over in GD, so as I was flipping through the listings last night and saw that this was about to start, I thought I'd take a look.

Weird. Seriously weird.


I really got the creeps when they all lined up kneeling on the floor waiting for daddy's "blessing."

Seriously. It's not often a TV programme can disturb me that much.

Do they do 'purity balls' for mothers and sons? I expect not, but I'd be interested if those at the father-daughter ones would find that idea creepy, or if they'd just brush it off as "oh, we don't need that".

2. I don't know.. but the whole idea is just seriously off-putting.

Those girls were zombie-like in their recitation of the dogma, and their parents were hovering over them to make sure they got the wording right. In fact, one of them was trying to describe something and couldn't think of the word, so she stopped and asked her father "what word should I use?" Not, "what's the word for..." but "what word *should* I use?" Obviously she had been coached to say only certain things.

That guy really creeped me out.
