UK airports set to reopen
All UK airports can reopen from 2200 BST on Tuesday, the Transport Secretary Lord Adonis has said.

Lord Adonis made the statement after consultation with the Civil Aviation Authority and a reassessment of the risk to aircraft from volcanic ash.

Some restrictions will remain in place, but they will be much smaller than those enforced under the current ban.

Lord Adonis said after the ban was lifted it would be up to airlines to bring flight schedules back on track.

Should at least stop these parents who took their children to China wherever for Easter whining about the cost of getting back. They should get a life and go to Margate or Whitley bay next time - wankers. I mean to say - have I complained even once about a 1920's Vega banjo body and an 1895 banjeaurine being stuck in the USA ? Well - not until now.

1. Must say, I miss the peace & quiet ...
... as well as the lovely clear blue skies ...

I feel sorry for the people stuck away from home (including
one of my neighbours and my wife's boss) but I would so vote
for a total ban on non-emergency air travel to be brought in
for the sake of the planet. (Actually, I'd applaud anyone
who brought in a tax on air fuel so at least that long-term
subsidy can come to an end.)

2. There's something odd
I've got friends in Isleworth and Chiswick etc which are both under the normal main flight path just east of LHR and yet no planes are flying over them.

4. Yer but, yer but ,yer but
if you look at the map most are coming in across Windsor which will really piss that lot off. I think the ones which look as though they're coming up the Thames are looping south to Surrey and then coming up from the south. The comments from my dance pals they had posted on FB yesterday and again this morning - that was how I knew. They maintain it's all peaceful to the east of Heathrow.
