Can We Stop the Spin About the Missing Senator Until January 6, 2005?
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 06:18 PM by coreystone
There have been so many unsubstantiated and uncorroborated stories about which Senator may or, may not, support Conyers on Thursday. Maybe there will be one Senator; maybe not. Maybe there will be more than one Senator; maybe there will not. Some of the strings today are saying that Nelson will support Conyers. Some of the strings are saying that others will support Conyers. There has been no confirmation of any of this. No public statements....nothing!!

Rather than to get ourselves into an emotional "yo-yo", why don't we just sit back, slow down, and wait until 1:00 PM on January 6, 2005 to find out. I really don't think that any more activism regarding this issue is going to "smoke out" a possible Senator.

I guess if anyone wants to burn their tires, that's their choice. Personally, I am not going to play the "which Senator" emotional roller coaster game!

5. Thank you for saying that
Unfortunately, the ones who need to read it most probably won't.

8. Yes please!
Much as I enjoy roller-coasters, this one IS getting a bit exhausting.

The disinfo in here is unbelievable. And, in a sense, very encouraging.

It wouldn't be happening if we weren't onto something.

Believe! Defend! Embrace!

10. You mean it isn't the future, yet?
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 07:13 PM by Wilms
Dang! It's still the present.

Thanks Corey. This needs to be said over and over and...

On edit: But keep the activism up. Instead of posting "are we there yet", email senators.

15. NO! Keep up the letters, keep up E-Mails, Keep up all that "could..
possibly" influence one Senator, or many to support the Conyers et al movement to deflect the legitimacy of the electoral votes being accepted by both bodies of Congress.

What I primarily object to, are the unsubstantiated "stories", without sound journalistic support, which are becoming so prevalent on this site concerning specific Senators that have indicated that they have committed themselves to Conyers et al. Hope is a wonderful thing to utilize in positively impacting the communication from Senators who may support this issue. But, INCORRECTLY reporting information which falsely asserts commitments by selected Senators as having "come out" to support Conyers, lacks credibility.

It seems that there are some on this site who wish to deviate from concrete journalism to the "tabloid" mentality. This is not verifiable truth. Nelson has not made a statement. Senator Dayton has not made a statement. Nobody has made a journalistically verifiable statement. So let us go back to high school civics and understand how to differentiate between "spin" and "verifiable" sources of information.

PLEASE! Write letters, send E-Mails, and communicate anyway that you would wish to do with any Senator that you would wish to convey a support for Conyers et al. But, please stop the "RAH-RAH" for threads without ANY documentation; it really wastes time and energy for more important activities and reads.

14. Disagree. Keep the Freepers guessing. They cant spam all the Senators
nor can the Bush mafia shoot down all the Dem Senator's airplanes.

If Karl Rove knows for sure that Senators X, Y and Z are going to contest, I can guarantee you that Cheney will do something drastic that he might not want to do if the question is in doubt.
