Why do I have tears in my eyes as I listen to Conyer's AAR now
Could there actually be hope for tomorrow?

6. oh I just love this man!!
I could listen to his voice all day...reasonable...passionate...intelligent... I truly think he's done it - has the evidence - has the senators...tomorrow can't come fast enough.

After the 2hr debate - what happens then? Does the vote have to be 2/3 majority? I can't find any info...

19. Filibuster is being discussed...
Two hour debate per challenge (I think they'll combine all Ohio charges in 2 hr. debate--BushCons running the show--but they might have trouble doing that, and looking legal, if more than one state is involved, f.i., Florida--but I think the challenge will be confined to Ohio--just not sure on this.)

Sorry, not sure about 2/3 vote, but I doubt it. I think it's a simple majority.

See this post for some very hopeful reports from our lobbyists in DC. Don't want to get hopes up too much, but apparently a filibuster is being discussed (one Senator can keep the floor is she/he keeps talking--there is a rules discussion going on about this, Senator right to filibuster vs. 2 hr. rule for challange):

21. Yeah, a group called CAEF is looking at the legality of Filibustering
in the Senate-side of the debate on Jan. 6. If so, the Filibuster could continue in the Senate as long as there are Senators willing to continue examining the issues! Which sounds like they could still be Filibustering when John Kerry returns to the country just before the Inauguration! An Inauguration which would then have to be postponed due to the Filibustering!

I think this is our best scenario thus far, and just hope we can pull it off! Since the Repugs have been controlling the "dialogue" for so long now...nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing them silenced for as long as WE choose.

Of course they'll probably try and over-ride us with something from the Supreme Court...but hey, it's worth a try!

5. Conyers is full of hope
and I trust him like no other politician right now. Sounds like we might get several Senators standing.

You know what would be extra cool.. If a Republican Senator stood with us. I can dream.

It wouldn't be a wise tactic to name names. He is the greatest and a truly dedicated public servant. NOT just a f'ckin' politician!

20. The Korean war is not covered well in public...
...school, so a lot of people don't know that we have technically been at war with North Korea for around 50 years. Nothing new.

18. North Korea told their citizens to be prepared for long war with US
is what they said on AAR AP News this morning.

Oh God. What a convenient distraction that would be for tomorrow, if there was real evidence to be announced.

22. I've been listening to AAR the last half hour and I haven't heard...
...John Conyers, just Al Frankin talking about how much he supports the military (just did a tour over there)(sorry, I DON'T support "the military"--I DO support soldiers, especially those who resist being used as cannon fodder for BushCon oil wars; I support medical care, vets benefits, higher salaries, competent leaders, and a policy of restraint in the use of military force, and diplomacy first in settling disputes; but I wish we could GET RID OF "the military," frankly--it's too much of a temptation to dictators, as we are seeing now--or at least re-think and curtail this enormous albatross on our society and threat to world peace).

Please, any reports on the John Conyers interview?

17. John Conyers and the Congressional Black Caucus are about
all that's left of the Democratic party and, I fear, the Republic, itself.
