3. That's very welcome news. Thank you!!
This is the only time -- except for those short reports by Keith Olbermann -- when I wish I had cable.

5. Thank you.
My fingers are crossed.

Apparently, it isn't too late to send Senator Boxer an email:

7. Streaming radio coverage on the internet! kpfa.org
Live Broadcast from Capitol Hill

Berkeley, California's Pacifica radio station, KPFA, will be broadcasting live--both the Gonzalez confirmation hearings and the "Congressional Black Caucus Challenge."

www.kpfa.org

The 2005 political year is upon us, with two critical meetings of the U.S. Senate. Pacifica Radio will be there live today starting at 7am PST, with Pacifica National Affairs correspondent Larry Bensky, and KPFA Morning Show host Andrea Lewis.

6:00 am PST
Senate Confirmation Hearing
The Senate Confirmation Hearing for Alberto Gonzales, Bush's nominee for Attorney General. This man was reportedly a major architect of policies at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib, including the decision to ignore the Geneva Convention. He was also a significant author of the Patriot Act.

1:00 am PST
Congressional Black Caucus Challenge
The Congressional Black Caucus, led by Congressman John Conyers, Jr., will once again challenge the electoral college vote (just like they did in 2001, memorialized so poignantly in Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911").

4. I'm planning to TiVo it...
...but I don't know whether I should set it for CSPAN (which says US House of Reps) or CSPAN2 (US Senate). I guess the House is where the contest will be made? Anyone know?

10. It's on regular C-SPAN (not 2 or 3)
It's a joint session of the House and Senate and the C-SPAN website shows it on at 1 pm EST on C-SPAN (or C-SPAN 1 as some call it).

They list it as "Electoral College Ballot".
