How did Kerry do in the following cities?
Can anyone tell me off the top of his or her head whether Shrub or Kerry won the majority of the following cities?

Salt Lake City (including or not including Ogden)
Grand Rapids (including or not including Muskegon-Holland)
Minneapolis (including or not including St. Paul)
Greensboro (including or not including Winston-Salem)
Memphis
Dallas (including or not including Fort Worth)
San Antonio
Houston (including or not including Galveston)
Oklahoma City
Norfolk (including or not including Virginia Beach-Newport)

As always, any insight would be appreciated.

1. San Antonio
Don't know the data for the city itself, but for Bexar County, Bush won 55-44 or so.

For the city itself, Kerry must have done somewhat better, but I haven't seen any data on that.

24. No way to know how Kerry did in San Antonio or Houston: vote fraud there
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 08:40 PM by berniew1
They both had default to Bush vote machine fraud as well as default from Democratic straight vote to Bush for at least some vote machines, maybe all.

I'm not sure which of these I called the files there.
but the info is also at:
www.voteprotect.org maps/Texas/ harris & bexar counties

My old computer crashed; got a new one today; but don't have access to all of my old info yet.

5. I saw a post on on another board where a troll was suggesting
that these are "Republican" cities, and that just doesn't seem correct to me.

17. That was helpful
Actually, he won by a convincing margin in Norfolk. I'd love to know if the Navy vote in the area was for him, or if there are even Navy folk living there, even though it's a port town.

I'd love to think Navy voted for Kerry, but it might have been the needy instead.

12. Here it is:
2004: Shelby Cty (Memphis) Kerry 216,945 (57.5%) Bush 157,137 (41.9%)
2000: Gore 190,404 (56.5%) Bush 141,756 (42.1%)

Does that sound red?

11. Totals for "Hampton Roads" Metro Area--VA
Norfolk VA Kerry 42,979
Bush 26,156

Chesapeake Bush 51,913
Kerry 38,442

Va Beach Bush 103,748
Kerry 70,657

Newport News Kerry 33,598
Bush 30,081

Hampton Kerry 31,750
Bush 23,008
---------------

Technically speaking, Norfolk went to Kerry almost 2:1, however it is near the wealthier suburban city of Va Beach, which seems to have gone solidly for Bush.
Newport News and Hampton are adjacent cities on the Peninsula
across from Norfolk/Va Beach

13. So Kerry won
Minneapolis (including or not including St. Paul)
Greensboro (including or not including Winston-Salem)
Memphis
Norfolk (including or not including Virginia Beach-Newport)

Shrub won San Antonio and Grand Rapids

Anyone know about Salt Lake City, Dallas, Houston, and Oklahoma City?

Sounds like Shrub country, but I was surprised by the strength of blue oasises in rec country.

14. Salt Lake City results:
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 07:34 PM by greenmutha
These do not include the Ogden area:

Bush** - 59.57% (actual votes 215,728)
Kerry - 37.54% (actual votes 135,949)
Other (combined) - 2.89% (actual votes 10,459)

http://www.clerk.slco.org/html/results_arch/2004general.html

An extremely reliable source told me that the LDS Church *instructed* their members to vote for **!!!

(Edited to add actual vote counts.)
