Blackout Tomorrow
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 02:53 PM by Independent_Liberal
Not the Bush blackout you guys are putting on the websites, I'm talking about that symbolic blackout we heard about. Tomorrow thousands of Americans will turn their power off at exactly 9:00PM, wait two minutes and power back up causing a dramatic surge in the power grid. Since the MSM always covers up lies and corruption of the administration, it will send a message to them and people will notice they're in the dark.

I saw a post on here a few moments ago about the idea of staging a national "primal scream." That would be a good idea as well. You could round up members of a choir up at the Canadian border, get the biggest pioneer amp speakers you can find, stack bullhorns on top of bullhorns, and have the choir members scream in unison really loud and it would send a big soundwave out across the country. Ha!!! Now that I think about it, that reminds me of something Bart Simpson did in a Simpsons episode once.

This also reminds me of that one South Park episode where they discovered a sound frequency called the "brown noise." It would cause people to lose control of their bowels and crap their pants when you play it on a musical instrument. In this episode, some kids in a school band accidentally played it at a live world broadcast Kenny G concert and caused everybody on the planet to shit themselves. Hahaha!!!

Okay, I kind of went off on a tangent there, but I just can't help but think of that when you guys mention these things.

Peace

:)

5. A few thousand people
are turning on their power at the same moment all day, every day. This wouldn't do a thing. Even if everyone in the country turned off all their lights, then back on, simultaniously, the end power use will be exactly where it began. A bit of a surge going everywhere at once, except that -not- everyone in the country is going to, and i doubt enough to make any difference except maybe a high point on a graph in the power plant, that some worker will see, go "huh" and promptly forget.

8. Lets do the black out thing in the spring
Its too cold to do that now. Lack of power now might kill some people. Lovely tangents though. ;)

10. This is the kind of thing you have to think about
if you want to have a true economic boycott.

Let's say you want to get off oil for example. How would you do it?

It's not just a one-day thing. It's a change in lifestyle. One that most Americans are probably unwilling to make, although we may be forced into it someday for various reasons anyway.
