Here's a great question for all you creative people
Since we're in the gear-up mode for focusing our efforts...
Anybody have any ideas on how we can increase our membership roll here on DU? (We do want more members, no?) I have several friends who have been complaining about the Repugs and I said, "funny you should mention that... I know this great place where you can do something positive to promote a change in 2008" and it's name is D-U.
I put my bumper sticker on my truck but I need one for the car too.
Also, if you write a letter to the editor, reference something that you saw on DU and then say it can be found at du.com you know what I mean?
How bout we start carrying buisness cards around with the web address printed on them. When we see other progressives or meet new people we can hand it to them. I know alot of times people are always telling me to go here and there but by the end of the night and drinks later I have no idea what the web address was.
World history over the centuries has shown a clear progressive trend on a macroscopic scale. Despite certain setbacks, eventually liberal ideas do take hold and become mundane things even many conservatives may take for granted.
Democratic ideas (if not full blown democracies themselves) are all over the globe now. Human rights are an international concern as long as there are organizations present to defend them.
Humanity has a natural hunger for peace and justice. Starved too long, it will insist upon being fed.
The current forces that artifically suppress us are unstable and take immense energy and wealth to maintain. We will return to political power.
It's just a matter of how much time will pass and how much suffering will occur first.
