Some counties in Texas also don't allow students to vote; and other major
election problems in Texas- and a closer election than many asssume.

In Texas, students at the predominantly African-American Prairie View A&M University challenged a local district attorney’s claim that they were not eligible to vote in the county. Waller County district attorney Oliver Kitzman wrote a letter to the local
election administrator, later published in the local newspaper, threatening to prosecute persons who failed to meet his definition of having a legal voting address.6 In fact, an earlier controversy had led to a lawsuit and a 1978 federal court order prohibiting the
local registrar from treating Prairie View students differently from other county voters.

She never received her card. She tried to vote early voting (Waller County) but they told her that because she was a student she had to sign something and she was actually supposed to vote in Dallas.
