question for Landshark (and others) about the WA Governor trial
The articles I've read have not mentioned much, if anything, about DREs and/or voting technology. Seems to be all about ineligible voters.

I heard Jim March (from BBV... please don't start a BBV attack here folks) mention that there was evidence that DREs were used in WA to give the election to the Dem, showing that it's not just a Republican issue.

Then there's Landshark's study that shows DREs favored Bush in an inexplicable way.

I'm confused. Did DREs give Gregoire the election? Did they trim votes from Kerry to Bush to help the national popular vote? Both?

Why is none of this being mentioned in the articles about the trial? Are DREs even going to come up in the trial? Seems to me, even without the fraud question, this is a prime example of why DREs are a bad idea, especially with no paper record. The recount on the DREs must have been a joke.

1. I don't know about that but maybe this deposition will be of interest
of Dean Logan--I just happened upon it--from last month. Has a lot of very interesting detail about how the ballots are handled/counted in Washington state.

2. Dean Logan lied repeatedly in that
Deposition. Dean Logan could tell me white is white and I would not believe him. I myself have caught him in lies.

Dean Logan is the reason the Republicans will get the revote they want.

8. Andy, do you know what he lied about in particular?
I'd love to know. Thanks.

3. It's all about Voter Registration
Limiting the franchise has been a right-wing agenda item for years. Diebold owns the VR software that is being used in King County, FWIW.

4. That's really nasty to hear.
How did Diebold get into voter software?

9. They bought a West Coast VR company called DIMS.
And brought it into Ohio last summer, when the counties were required to have their VR databases meet HAVA and state standards. Thye've got maybe a dozen counties now, give or take.

5. I'd love to hear what Jim March is talking about
only two counties have DREs in Washington state - a tiny bucket, and Rossi won handily on both sets of DREs (Snohomish and Yakima counties) doing significantly better than the paper ballots in those counties. I focused on Snohomish of course.

When 68% the votes were paper, with Gregoire winning by about 2000, and the other 32% were DREs from Sequoia and Rossi got a landslide win of 8500 in a much smaller population in the same county, it's hard to understand Jim March's point. Maybe he's talking about a different technology somewhere else in WA state?

6. Jim March talked about this on Electile Dysfunction. I wondered also. He

said, "There was apparently Democrat vote hacking in WA state. That's woken up a lot of my fellow Republicans who up unitl now have been viewing it as a Democrat conspiracy theory but now they've seen a Republican governor's race stolen through a Diebold machine and now they're saying maybe all those who were talking about electronci vote fraud are right." (I just copied his words down from Electile Dysfunction).

Land Shark, did they even USE any Diebold machines in WA?

And, on a video of a CA teach-in in Feb. Bev Harris also talked about how they found extra ballots three different times in King County, each time they did another recount, implying those ballots were fraudulent. I wondered in both of these cases why neither Bev nor Jim mentioned your Snohomish County study, and questioned their "facts".

11. Discount anything Bev Harris
or Jim March says. They have been caught in repeated lies and Bev is now consorting with Freepers to spy on and smear DUers.
