electoral red herrings.
i do not think it is an accident that gay marriage is headed to a referendum in illinois at the same time as diebold arrives. dupage county just inked a contract for dre's. this is a must win thug county. it holds the key to defending henry hyde's old seat, as well as defending fat denny hastert.
i think that the purpose of these referenda is not to "bring out the base". i think they are red herrings, used to disguise vote theft. i think that we need to deflate them by rejecting the premise whenever this debate arises. when the subject comes up, the tack to take is, "what are you covering up with that smoke screen?" and engage the cons in this argument with- "do you support manipulation of the election process? do you support transparent elections? do you support election integrity?"
am i crazy?

2. "...Henry Hyde's old seat..."
Now THERE'S an image for you. Yeesh.

I think many still don't know that Diebold is a problem. Education on the matter would be key. Do you ever write LTTE?

3. i know i should
obviously, i am fond of blowviating. i did just cancel the chgo trib, couldn't stand it anymore. i switched to the sun-times, but don't read it that much. so, i do not really track what is is the papers. i think that helps get a letter in, if you are responding to a particular story. i have started reading the capitol fax, which is a springfield blog. that is getting me back into chicago news coverage, and reading these papers online.
is that a tidy rationalization for my laziness? i could polish it a little i guess.....
