The Women of Diebold
Edited on Thu May-11-06 08:08 PM by Amaryllis
Real endorsements from real election officials, who all just happen to be women, (??) from a real Diebold promotional brochure, featuring two of our all-time favorites: Dems Conny McCormack and Cathy Cox.

Scroll down on the link to see their shiny smiling faces and quotes about how wonderful Diebold is. Anyone see a conflict of interest here?

On the bottom panel, there is a section of the brochure where the wording is partially cut off and the part of it that you can see is difficult to read, but it says, "We won't rest until everyone's vote is counted successfully and accurately." Are we all comforted?

Then go here to see the latest on the Diebold variations for a far more realistic portrayal of Diebold:

1. What lying SHIT!!! How much does Diebold give to their lying corrupt
Edited on Thu May-11-06 08:14 PM by LaPera
campaigns?

Obviously they don't care one bit about all of the millions upon millions of questionable manipulation of votes, machine breakdowns, secrecy of the software paid for by our tax dollars...and the fact no private corporation should own the peoples voting apparatus's...because the conflict of interest is too overwhelming!!!!

But these arrogant, selfish ignorant, non-caring, bitches, obviously don't give a fuck one bit about our vote...as long as the bucks keep flowing in their direction.

4. Yes, you did, referring to corporation owning the people's voting
Edited on Thu May-11-06 08:21 PM by Amaryllis
apparatus, which is so true. I was thinking it's one huge conflict of interest also for election officials to be endorsing a vendor. I dont expect they did it just out of the goodness of their heart. One has to ask what's in it for them? It will be very interesting to see what happens in the GA governor's race with CAthy Cox running.

6. See Amarylls' other great post today, about Cathy Cox/Diebold "money pit"
in Georgia. It would be mind-boggling in different times than these.

More discussion of these matters there. One of the chief engineers of the Calif Diebold scandal, that I mention in the other thread--the "swiftboating" of our honest Sec of State Kevin Shelley--was Connie McCormack, head of elections in Los Angeles. It does not in the least surprise me to see her pushing Diebold like a sales representative, as if she is on the payroll. She is best friends with--wines, dines and vacations with--the former chief salesperson for Diebold in Calif, Deborah Seiler (who now works as a San Joaquin county election official). McCormack is a Diebold shill--equally as bad as the Schwarzenegger appointee Sec of State Bruce McPherson.

Ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-d girls! (--and not in any "good" sense of the word; Bush junta bad!)

Congressional bills:

Russ Holt's HR 550 requires a real paper ballot, bans secret software in "voting machines", and has more than 170 co-sponsors, but the audit required is too weak, it promotes electronic voting and centralized power, and the secret software might be permitted to continue in the central tabulators (the bill is not clear). (Note: Senate Bill-SB 330 and House-HR704 simply require a "voter verified paper audit trail" (VVPAT), which may be best for the moment.)

10. Please stop identifying McCormack and Cox as Democrats.
There is no DNA test available to determine the true political leanings of operatives.
But when they're fighting to insure "wins" for rethugs, isn't it kind of OBVIOUS what their true political persuasion is?

Life-long rethugs who register as Dems, so that they can work from the inside to defeat the party, are STILL rethugs.

The head of the Dem party in Ohio is one, Teresa LaPore is another.
This Dem identification is supposed to (and apparently successfully) make people think that both sides are equally at fault.

GRRR!!!

13. Just because they are Dems does not mean they are automatically
Edited on Fri May-12-06 11:27 AM by Amaryllis
good guys. REad Andrew Gumbel's book Steal this Vote for a history of Dems involved in election fraud. Dems are subject to bribes and kickback just like republicans are. ARe you suggesting that all Dems are good guys and only repubs are bad guys, and that if there is a Dem bad guy they are only masquerading as Dems and are republicans in disguise? Too black and white for my experience of how the world works. There are good, ethical republicans and corrupt Dems.

14. I’m saying: Look at whose “wins” are assisted
by the efforts of these so-called Dems.

Did McCormack break the law last November, by keeping election observers away, on behalf of the Democratic candidate?
Of course not.

Look at which candidates their efforts do benefit. These are Dems in name only.

Please don’t try to put words in my mouth. I never suggested “that all Dems are good guys and only repubs are bad guys.”

What I wrote is what I meant.
