Did anyone get a letter from Dennis Kucinich this week?
The following reads like a form letter.

But the date of 2-23-2007, my prior multiple contacts, and its arrival concurrent with the impending (legislative) miscarriage called HR 811, make me wonder if those favorable to HCPBs are not on a "target list" for a "Heads Up!!" letter.

Read this as you will, but please inform me if anyone else received a similar letter this week.

"Thank you for contacting me regarding the Paper Ballot Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

"I share your belief in the importance of restoring the integrity of our electoral system. The voting irregularities that occurred in the past several elections across the nation have demonstrated the need for changes in our electoral system. In particular concerns about the integrity of voting machines have caused many voters to question whether their votes have been properly counted.

"Due to these concerns, I am a strong supporter of the use of paper ballots during elections. To that end, in the 109th Congress, I introduced legisaltion that would require the use of paper ballots in all presidential elections. These ballots would then be hand-counted at the polling location. I believe this bill, the Paper Ballot Act, is an important step towards the restoring the faith of Americans in their electoral system.

"Please be assured I will continue to work with my colleagues in the 110th Congress to restore faith in our electoral system.

"Thank you again for contacting me. Please continue to stay in touch with me about the issues that are important to you."

Sincerely,

Dennis J. Kucinich

This make me think three things may be important to do today:

A) Burn up the wires with faxes to derail the fast-tracked HR 811

B) Call Dennis Kucinich's office re: re-introduction of HR 6200, as well as all of his co-sponsors.

C) Call Rep. Maxine Waters and tell her it is time to keep her pledge to pull her name off of HR 811 (a call to Conyers, Lacy Clay, and Emanuel Cleaver would also help).

It's not like there is anything else important to do today, is there?
