Daily Voting News' July 11-13, 2009 Announcement- DVN going on hiatus - indefinitely

Ellen Theisen advises that Voters Unite does not have the resources to continue DVN at this time. I will try to post other news sources as I can. I am sad to see this. The job that John Gideon did took not just time, but labor, and wisdom to do the digging and analysis of daily news. I think I depended on the intro paragraphs in each daily news more than anything. The DVN has been a dependable friend of voting activists around the country. Thanks to Ellen, John Washburn and Dave Klein for continuing on as long as they were able. I am posting John's picture again, in rememberance of all his years of selfless work.



John Washburn, Dave Klein, and I have decided that, starting tonight, Daily Voting News will be on an indefinite hiatus. After realistically evaluating the situation, we are forced to accept that current resources alone are insufficient to continue DVN while we are also exploring possible models that will be viable and still retain the quality that DVN readers have rightfully come to expect. Since now is a slow time for election-related news, clearly this is a good time for a hiatus. We are grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the continuation of DVN and very much appreciate the kind words and support expressed by those of you who responded to our survey.
