Chaz Bono Eliminated from DWTS..
I'm surprised nobody's posted this yet, given all the interest when the show started.

1. I'm glad he lasted as long as he did - imo that was because people wanted to support him...
He worked hard and it was fun to see his journey continue - really enjoyed the documentary about him on OWN a few months ago.

2. I voted for him--that'll teach me!
I felt bad for him because the judges gave him so much shit, so I took the time to call in votes for him (something I generally don't do--I usually just watch/enjoy).

I guess I have the "bad luck" quality when it comes to that show--the people I root for are sure to be eliminated! That Carson guy was a family favorite until he got the hook--he wasn't the best dancer but he had great entertainment value.

4. I don't watch the show, or any other shows like it.
I just heard the story this morning and posted it, after searching DU. I figured there was so much interest in it that people would want to know.

7. We don't miss it--I don't have any other options! It's the default in our household.
Sorta like Ed Sullivan was, back in the day.

3. There is more to this story
http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=677762

During last night's show they played what happened backstage on Monday's show. Chaz was extremely upset about some of the criticism. They basically called him a troll. Monday they called him a penguin. It was inappropriate and rather insensitive. Chaz tried real hard week after week. And the judges didn't give him enough credit for that alone. Lacey (his partner) was crying Monday night. It was a really hard show to watch :(

6. I'm glad you did
To be honest - I felt Chaz was bullied by Bruno (one of the judges). He may not know it, but words hurt people.

Oh and Chaz was wonderful when he left last night. He said I wish someone like me was on TV when I was a child. He's such a good guy.

9. They did insult him in their bullshit kind and gentle way
ewok, bear, I can't remember all. But with every little bit of praise for "being so brave" he was cut down. I would have loved to have seen him continue but fact is fact. Chaz does not have the body of a dancer and cannot possibly continue to compete with those that have that advantage. I think he did really well though and loved getting to see him and get to know him a little on there.

I think he left at the correct time but could have done without the "cutesy" insults to him.

10. There's nothing cute about being called a troll, a penguin, or an ewok.

13. No, No. I know. I am saying that they tried covering
it with cuteness. Kind of like the person who insults you while smiling and saying words of encouragement laced with sarcasm and insults. (think mother-in-law)

No, I didn't mean I thought it was cute. I think they thought it was cute. My husband and I remarked on it before I heard that Chaz was upset about it. I don't blame him. They could have kept all their remarks to his dancing.

11. Nancy Grace should have been eliminated first
God, she is a whiner, and can barely entertain, at least Chaz was charming.

Chaz has been in the spot light since he was born. He is extremely shy, but has endured all the criticism that has been thrown at him with such determination and grace. For someone who has never wanted the spot light, he did wonderfully well in the entertainment department. And he was right, the judges would NEVER have said any of the same things to the women contestants, every single week. Nancy Grace has been crappy every week, but not one judge said anything about her not having a waist.

And through it all, Chaz was in pain. If someone put's a hand on your knee and they can feel the crunching when you flex your leg, you better believe there is pain.

I will miss him on the show.

zalinda

14. I don't watch, but I admire Chaz for doing the show.
There is truth to that old saying, "Mean people suck." The judges should limit their remarks to the dancing, but what is the fun in that?

Just existing as an overweight person puts you at risk for people's nastiness. Yes, perhaps Chaz was inviting it by going on the show, but that doesn't make it right.

15. He actually shouldn't have lasted this long
I give him a lot of credit for putting up with the crap Bruno threw at him.

The judges were especially nasty this week - to many of the teams.

Nancy Grace has GOT to go. She's rude and pompous with no substance to back up that attitude.
