District Heights Mayor Completes 'Rehab' for Solicitation Charges
posted 6:41 am Tue July 15, 2008 - DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md.

District Heights Mayor James Walls (bio) has completed a court-sanctioned program after his arrest in a D.C. police prostitution sting and he no longer faces charges.

Walls told a D.C. Superior Court judge on Monday that he completed the court's "john school," in which speakers warn about the risks of prostitution. In return, prosecutors agreed not to pursue a solicitation charge, and the case was dismissed.

Thirty-year-old James Walls was arrested April 24 at Sixth and F Streets northwest and charged with solicitation for lewd and immoral purposes.

The District Height's Web site says Walls is an ordained minister and has served as associate pastor at Forestville New Redeemer Baptist Church.
