Homophobic Catholic school says NO to rainbows
This is an extreme posture for the school to be sure and an excellent example of homophobia. Among the more discussed forms are institutionalized homophobia (e.g. religious and state-sponsored), lesbophobia – the intersection of homophobia and sexism directed against lesbians, and internalized homophobia – a form of homophobia among people who experience same-sex attraction regardless of whether or not they identify as LGBT and it looks like this school qualifies on more than one count.

One Canadian Catholic school went a step further than banning the word gay: It banned rainbows at a recent anti-homophobia event. “We brought signs and posters with rainbows, and we were told that we can’t put them up,” the founder of St. Joseph Catholic Secondary School’s unofficial gay-straight alliance (GSA) tells Xtra. The district school board “said rainbows are associated with Pride. There’s so many other things that a rainbow could be. It’s ridiculous.”

1. Ok. All they have to do now is enforce it. Have fun defining what is a "rainbow".
I think they are about to find out how creative students can be.

2. But "yes" to hanging a naked man on a stick over their kids bed!
The Catholic church is thumbs up on sadomasochism and pedophilia and thumbs down on rainbows and unicorns. I'm shocked!

3. But wasn't a rainbow God's promise that the earth would never be flooded again?
Hmmm?

4. So I guess they just tossed that whole traditional Christian symbolic meaning of a rainbow
right out the window right? You know, the one where the rainbow was sent by God to promise Noah that the world would never be destroyed by a flood again?

I mean . . . it was covered at great length in Genesis.

9. Do they ban the bit in the Bible where God gave Noah a rainbow sign?

10. Well Noah Himself was a Ripoff of Sumerian/Babylonial myths

Editied slightly to conform with the biblical version of god...so don be surprised when even those biblical versions are edited out by modern Christians to further "god"'s Agenda. They are only doing what their distant (religious) forefathers did when they copied and edited out religious stories and iconography from a multitude of other religions.
