2. Remember this about the San Francisco Giants:
When the season began NO ONE expected them to be playing for the wild card in late August. They've done an incredible job to stay in the race this long.

4. Good pitching can take you a long way, and they have it.
They just lack the bats to take some pressure off of the pitching, and it's starting to take it's toll on the pitchers. They're still not out of it with as many games to go as there is, but the Rockies are playing real well.

If SF adds some bats in the offseason (and you have to think that will be priority #1) they'll be a tough team next year, and might have the legs to stay in it all year.
