3. I wonder what that would mean for viewership - do fans watch the WS no matter what,
or or they more likely to support a regional team, or a team from their own division/league, or only their own team?

I wonder if two teams from the same region would have limited appeal to the rest of the country...

When the Yankees played the Mets I believe interest was low but that was years ago so my memory is vague in that regard.


Edit/ I'm sure there is a section of baseball fans that will watch the WS no matter who is playing.

5. Cardinals were fading at the end of the season
and continued in the playoffs. I really thought they could go somewhere this year.
