7. he is being savaged in the LA press

for "taking apart a division winner."

the "experts" on Baseball Tonight were especially brutal. Peter Gammons implied that it was all a secret, sinister salary dump at the behest of the new owner. I remember that this time last year, gammons was dumping on this same team that he is now talking about as though they were a dynasty or something.

8. I guess that's par for the course.
Perhaps it's natural to blast what one doesn't understand. And there's probably a reason why DePodesta is a GM and Gammons (and the others) isn't (aren't).
