Redskins ship Campbell to Raiders
The Oakland Raiders, after making a deal that shipped out their leading tackler for the past four years, added a possible starting quarterback Saturday in a deal with the Washington Redskins for Jason Campbell.

In acquiring Campbell, the Raiders added a year to his existing contract, the quarterback told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley. He will make $4.5 million in 2011.

"I look at this as getting to start over," Campbell told Mosley via phone. "I talked to Mr. Davis, and he wanted me for two years. He wants me to help their team to a new level."

Campbell had already signed the Redskins' tender offer worth $3.1 million for 2010. Campbell said he and his agent, Joel Segal, had received interest from the Carolina Panthers on Friday until they selected Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen with the No. 48 overall pick.

With the trade for McNabb this probably isn't a shocker but I feel sorry for Campbell. He had NO protection here and therefore never was the QB I think he could be. I feel bad for him getting exiled to Oakland though...I hope he does well...

2. And he's going to another team with known protection problems...
but a smart move for the Raiders, IMO

3. Jason was pummeled this year and still survived.
No protection, no running game, and one decent receiver. Throw in the dysfunctional Danny & Vinny Show, and JC is probably happy to get the hell out of town even if it is to Oakland. The Skins are the only NFL team I even care about, but it's getting harder and harder to watch that clusterfuck. At least Vinny and Zorn are finally gone.
