5. Yeah! Although, the team should have had another two goals in the game, for a 3-0 victory.
The weird offsides call took away a goal.

Then Altidore (sp?) had an easy goal after the Algerian goalkeeper was caught away from the net, but hit the ball too hard and it sailed over the net.

6. We were ref-robbed of a goal for the second straight time, according to slo-mo replay analysis.
Edited on Wed Jun-23-10 11:43 AM by ClarkUSA
These refs are as crooked as a $3 bill. FIFA is rife with bribery. Americans are the only team to come back and win when down 2-0 at halftime except for Koman Coulibaly's crooked decision. This game, Dempsey's early goal was called offsides by a line ref when it was no such thing.

The old-fashioned way of winning World Cup games: cheating. That's a big reason why soccer will never be big in the U.S. Americans don't like sports where cheating is considered the "dark arts" and where players brag of getting away with play-acting and hand balls.

That said, GO USA!! :D

7. Why is this in the General Discussion: Presidency forum? Did Obama score the goal?
Yes, it's very important that we be #1 in the world, in everything.

And I'm also rooting for my second favorite team, Argentina. Come on Messi, baby, bring the cup home to Bs. As. Palermo was great yesterday against Greece (he's also yummy to look at), pity that this is his last WC. Maradona has so far behaved very well (always a challenge for him, LOL!!) and proven that he can be an excellent coach. Let's see how they fare Sunday against Mexico.

:woohoo:

Found a pic of Palermo and Maradona during a practice game.

Here's one wearing the jersey from my favorite team, Boca Jr.
