Texan's QB Shaub may be out for the year
ESPN.com news services / 11-14-11

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Coach Gary Kubiak said earlier Monday that Schaub was out indefinitely after injuring his foot on a quarterback sneak during Houston's 37-9 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Kubiak said Schaub was slated to visit specialists during the team's bye week.

Matt Leinart is now the Texans' starting quarterback.

Tragic. The AFC South is a weak division which Houston should win without him. But they'll need Schaub for the playoffs.

1. He is out for the year. That's the word here in Houston.

I wouldn't worry too much, as the playoffs come up. They're going to try Leinart this Sunday...but T.J. Yates is pretty damned exciting and I think they'll be okay. It's a running game for the most part, with the Johnson, in the game out of the game, hamstring issue.

2. Loved Yates in college
not sure he's ready for prime time, though.

Just when they were closing in on their first-ever playoff spot, too. :( Well, at least it won't be the Dolts who get it.

3. I've still got a good feeling about them.
I think they'll make the playoffs this year. :)

4. Luckily for them, only the Titans are in position to make a run at them.
I mean, seriously? The Titans? You're still in pretty good shape.
