7. strange how the Germany Supporters
who, according to the article were just as engaged in throwing things, aren't mentioned. How about a comment that German fans showed the world the only hospitality they know?

and there were 25,000 England Supporters at and around that match, so fewer than one percent were involved in any sort of incident. significantly more people get booked at an Eagles game

Still, once the Germans report the names of these individuals, they will certainly go on the banned travel list for England games, which is where they belong.

8. .
And I would be really surprised if even a handful of these hooligans (from both sides) were actually in the stadium. And I can't repeat often enough that I don't regard hooligans as football fans. That is my opinion since I saw a report about the Hooligan problem in England. The large majority of the really passionate British fans want to enjoy the match and are vehemently against the Hooligans. I can't talk for them but judging from the way they put it, it would be an insult to them to be associated with Hooligans.
They simply love football to much to get it destroyed by violence.

This thread is garbage.

10. "supporters"
It was neither "The English", nor "the Germans". It was a group of idiots, whose nationality is rather unimportant. It's a matter of a few spoiling the fun for many. (according to the record the English outnumbered others at 100-1)

That said, the Stuttgart police is the most baton-happy of all German police forces and likely caused needless escalation.

3. And what of the 400 Poland fans detained last week?
Should we now make the same gross generalisation about the poles?

5. To take your statement to its utterly useless conclusion...
...I suppose we can now expect riotous Germany supporters to commit some sort of horrible genocide. That, of course, being the only "side" the Germans have.

9. 200 out of 60,000,000. And it's not like noone else has nutters!
The German fans were just as involved, and the Polish were even worse until they got knocked out.
