Duke Basketball bias/Maryland gets no respect...

So I am sick of Duke (mens) basketball. Someone want to tell me the rationale behind Maryland and Duke having the same record and almost identical stats RPI, sos ect and yet in this week's coaches poll Duke was 14 and Maryland NOT RANKED? This is all about name. Maybe if Maryland hadn't actually beaten Duke quite well at Cameron last night I would not be so mad. I hope that MD is actually higher in the polls next week but with people like "Dukie V" around I would say that might not happen. (I am so sick of him I couldn't bear watching/listening to the game on ESPN last night).
I want to say BIG props to Gary Williams who as the Rodney Dangerfield of college basketball has taken a team dead in the water (I even thought so) to one of the hottest most dangerous teams in the country. Might be his second best coaching job, just behind their amazing run to the ACC title (beating Duke again!) a few years ago. BTW I just saw a stat- in the last 7 years Duke has lost 11 times at home. 3 times to Carolina but 4 times to Maryland!!! GO TERPS! FEAR THE TURTLE!!(Sorry I ever doubted you Gary!):applause:

1. The Terps are peaking at the right time and should be top 20.

since thats where Duke was but my bet will be 18 or 19 with Duke about 20 likely.
I heard Gary Williams when asked about it made a sardonic comment about since he votes in that poll he ought to vote twice...

5. for one week

then they beat up on a couple of unranked opponents and "Voila". Seriously. I hate Duke or as a fellow Terp refers to them "Puke"

6. I love Michael Wilbon

On PTI when Kornheiser said the Terps have an RPI of NINE Wilbon got very mad and said "When the rankings come out there better not be any of this junk of Duke being ranked higher.." He didn't say beat down like he does sometimes but that was the suggestion....:)

7. Duke was in trouble

But they rebounded to win 4 in a row. As a neutral observer, after beating Duke twice Maryland deserves to be ranked above the Blue Devils.

Maryland is clearly in the 64 and are now fighting for a higher seeding.

9. Today's Coaches poll 3/5

Has MD 20 and Duke 21. MD is 17 in the Ap. What the bleep is this? Who else has been winning conference game after conference game in the county? Florida no, NC no, maybe only Ohio State. What the hell do they have to do to get ANY respect. I know people say RPI is overblown but its in the 7-9 nine range.:argh:

3. I can't stand Dickie V, baby

when Duke started to loose, Dickie got quiet. ESPN had "technical difficulties" at the 2:47 minute mark of the game and wasn't fixed until :22 left in the game.

Waiting for the ACC Tournament now, men's & women's.

Someone has to knock off the Dukies for the ladie's team. Hope NC State does it.

8. I love Dickie V's passion for the game but his Duke rooting is sickening
