GEORGETOWN! Are you kidding me?
that was absolutely insane, an incredible game until the Heels simply went away in the last few minutes (+ OT)

a classic. almost makes up for the Oregon loss...

1. You hear that sound?

That's my bracket losing to Russian Roulette. . . the first few chambers were empty

but yah . . . that blew a hole through it right there.

Edit: But note, UNC just couldn't hit the basket for anything in the final minutes of regulation or overtime . . . it got to the point that whenever they got ready to shoot I already knew it wasn't going in.

2. I didn't even fill out a bracket
I was that bitter. However I am glad a Big East team is in it. SU's rivalry with Georgetown is not what it iwas though I expect it to be resurrected soon.

The younger Thompson and Ewing are much more tolerable than their obnoxious fathers.

3. That North Carolina collapse was a huge benefit to Florida
What a dream draw the entire tournament has been for the Gators. A weak bracket and now all they have to do is defeat two among three teams they've already beaten last season and this year. Revenge is garbage. Give me proven ability to defeat a team and it likely happens again. North Carolina had plenty of talent to defeat Florida and Kansas has already done it.

Here's the difference: a North Carolina/Florida final would have been pick'em. If Georgetown defeats Ohio St, Florida will be about a 4 point favorite over the Hoyas. Hardly insurmountable but it's the difference between 1 chance in 2, or 2 in 3, since a 4 point favorite is roughly 2/1 on the money line.

If North Carolina had moved on, they would have been co-favorites with the Gators. Now Florida is the lowest odds among the four teams, and their odds are significantly less than if North Carolina had advanced.

5. UNC has lost most of their overtime games.

So the meltdown was no surprise.

6. Didn't see the game until the end, so how was the referreeing??
I just turned it on with a few minutes to go and they were showing the stats about how UNC was ahead with about 21/24 free throws while Georgetown had 2/5. I know they Hoyas are aggressive, but was this a case of the refs doing everything in their power to help along the ACC team again?

7. no, it was well called
gtown was having trouble getting to the basket with guards (where a lot of fouls come from) and the gTown big men played a long time with three or four fouls.
