T.O. cleared to run, not cleared to play.....yet.
PHILADELPHIA -- Terrell Owens' doctor said Tuesday he will not give the All-Pro receiver clearance to play in the Super Bowl.

Owens saw his doctor Tuesday, one day after telling reporters he would play against the New England Patriots on Feb. 6.

Dr. Mark Myerson said he's pleased with Owens' recuperation, but maintains the surgery requires a recovery period of eight to 10 weeks. Myerson said in a statement Tuesday night that any attempt to accelerate the rehabilitation process poses the same risk for injury.

Owens said he plans to be in uniform for the Eagles in Jacksonville, Fla. The Eagles' doctors and training staff should have the final say on Owens' status.

"Spiritually I've been healed and I believe that I'll be out there on that field Sunday, regardless of what anybody says," Owens said Monday night, before going to Baltimore for his weekly checkup with Myerson.

Owens was expected to test his injured ankle on the field this week and could try running as early as Wednesday.

T.O. is going to play regardless of doctor's recommendations, put money on it.

1. I will
I would play in the Super Bowl at 75% if I get injured, I will have 8-10 months to recover

3. Yes, he has to cover his ass.
Expect to see #81 out there on the field February 6th.

4. I dunno if this is such a good idea
Disclaimer: I do NOT say this as a Pats partisan...but I wonder at the wisdom of rushing a guy back into action with an injury like that. This isn't a sprain. He broke a goddam bone. He will not be at 100%, and they are going to need a healthy receiving corps across the board to deal with the Pats D.

That, and the risk of a career-threatening re-injury, make me hope this isn't a kamikaze run. TO annoys me, but there is no denying his skill. He will be 100% next year, and maybe they should wait. The Eagles will be damned damned good without him...and maybe worse with him, if he is playing hurt.

5. Well we're going to see.
The Eagles made a huge investment with T.O. so ultimately they will do what they think is best to protect that. There is a risk of re-injury but no risk of anything career threatening. By all accounts his recovery has been incredible but not surprising considering the kind of shape he keeps himself in. I was at the game Sunday and he was jumping and running around and cheering with the cheerleaders and shit. He looked good. Reid said he wanted to play in this past game. I suspect he will get at least 15 snaps in the Bowl and look for him to grab a corner fade in the endzone.

6. He was limping on his way into the Doctors office
I think it's extremely unlikely that he'll play. He not only needs to be healthy, he needs to be in game shape.

It makes for a nice story to follow during the hype week though.

7. No offense to Eagles fans
but I'm REALLY sick of hearing about Terrell Owens. I don't need to know what he does every minute of every day. It's smeared all over ESPN right now.
