6. Wrong again. As usual. Giants say "It Came From Green Bay."

Not that reality will make any difference to those ensnared by Avida - a Vedic concept for describing "active unwillingness to face the truth."

Flu tackles Giants; Aaron Ross latest on Big Blue to get hit with bug

BY RALPH VACCHIANO
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

Tuesday, January 29th 2008, 4:00 AM

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Super Bowl fever isn't the only thing hitting the Giants.

Rookie cornerback Aaron Ross became the sixth Giant in the last eight days to be struck with flu-like symptoms. He joins a list that includes Michael Strahan, fullback Madison Hedgecock, safety Michael Johnson, defensive tackle Manny Wright and kicker Lawrence Tynes.

"I hope that's the end of it," Tom Coughlin said. "We've had some guys who missed practice with high temperatures. We've also had a few guys whose symptoms weren't as severe.

"We have taken precautions. The medical people have done the best they can to distribute some medicine, if you will, in advance of the plane trip out there. Hopefully the guys are rested enough that this will not be an issue."

It's not clear what sparked the breakout, but some players believe it came from the NFC Championship Game that was played in wind chills of minus-24 degrees.

cheated, his "punishment" a joke and a nondeterrent. What am I unwilling to face? What reality am I unaccepting of as opposed to those who apparently don't care about right and wrong when it involves their heroes?

9. Find me a perfect hero, Boss, and I will support them winning the Super Bowl

The Pats screwed up. They got caught doing wrong. They got punished. Despite that they have made it to the Big Game. Bash Bellichick all you want for his wrongdoing. It's his fault. He had a gross failure of ethics. I don't think any New England fan overlooks that. But he ain't the whole team. He's one mortal man with a massive fudgie in his sports shorts.

But that's not enough to make me disrespect the whole team, and what the whole team -- my team since the early 1960s - has accomplished this season. I still support the whole team, and I want to cheer them on to victory. They are a great team. The players have been outstanding. Nothing anyone says about the cheating scandal is going to change my mind on that. So folks can rag on the Pats all they want, it does not change the fact that no one has beaten them yet. And I think that statement will still be true come Monday morning.

10. So
billichick isn't a member of the team? If they are so good (which they are) and he's such a great coach why the need to CHEAT? If the Eagles or the Saints had done this I would be ashamed and urge the league not to let them compete in post season play. Just like in NASCAR, cheating does not get punished to the extent that it won't happen again. I refer you to Chad Knaus, the billichick of his sport. Cheer on your team. I choose not to accept the values of Patriot fans who apparently don't give a fuck about right and wrong nor the integrity of the game. I will continue to rag on the Patriots because its the right thing to do. Just because you don't give a fuck about doing the right thing doesn't mean others shouldn't. Its like the guy charged with attempted murder pleading for mercy because the person he had every desire to kill did not die. I don't know who sucks worse, billichick or his enablers.

12. Well, since you are so fixed in your soul., all I can say is...
Enjoy the Super Bile you so desperately want.

I making a double batch of popcorn, and I'm going to kick back and enjoy the Super Bowl. It should be a good game.

I hope the Patriots win, but that the Pats and the Giants both make a supendous, memorable game of it.

If the Patriots do win and go 19-0, I will salute them. If the Giants come out on top, they will also get my salute for their stunning, historic upset.

It's a game. Enjoy.

punishment was to declare the Pats "playoff ineligible" doesn't care about right and wrong? Other than that, what punishment could the NFL have imposed that would have prevented them from playing this sunday? Even with a 7 game forfeit, the Pats in all likelihood still win their division and make the superbowl.

13. Far be it from me
to say what the appropriate punishment should be. But the "punishment" that the Patriots got certainly is not going to deter anyone from attempting the same thing in the future. After all look at what happened to billichick and his team after they were "punished." And the last two NASCAR champion teams crewchief was sighted the last two years for cheating. Wow, it really deterred him from carrying forth. Imagine the Patriots going undefeated in the regular season and then sitting out the playoffs. Do you think anyone would pay attention to that? Would a Patriot fan take a closer look at the concept of right and wrong? billichick and the Patriots have made a mockery of right and wrong and their fans continue to cheer them on. Who gives a fuck about integrity? Just do whatever the fuck you want to do, just win baby. The only way a sportsfigure gets in trouble is by lying to congress or the feds and then they are punished for something other then a sports related activity.

15. Perhaps they should have stripped the Pats of two past championships...
Or maybe that would be too harsh.

7. The Islanders have been hit hard as well
Dipietro, the undisputed MVP of that team, is out tonight. Others are Sillinger, Sutton, Fedotenko and their assitant coach.

Flu bug must be extra nasty this year.
