if a DUer would post a thread in GD or GDP thanking public school teachers for all they do, and the sacrifices they make?
Maybe a thread giving public school teachers the respect they deserve?

I know it's self-indulgent, but it sure would be nice if this would happen. That being said, I am far from being worn out, and ready to fight. I will not be a doormat for anyone!

but that doesn't mean that thanks aren't owed/deserved.

Even those who think that "the teachers are the problem" in some of these cases must surely recognize that there are hundreds of thousands of great teachers out there who aren't appreciated highly/often enough.

Seriously I had far more positive than negative comments in the thread I started the other day. The bashers are a small but vocal minority.

I really think that teachers aren't qualified enough, are paid too much, don't know what they're doing, are paid too little and therefore don't have the best people trying to be teachers, have too much edumacation (a master's degree in fingerpainting? come on!), don't understand my uniquely special offspring, need to go back to school...



and I had a really bad teacher in third grade.
