New Allegations Surface Vs. Spokane Mayor

New allegations of misconduct surfaced Tuesday against Mayor James West, who has rejected demands for his resignation amid allegations he offered city jobs to men he met in gay online chat rooms.


According to The Spokesman-Review, state Sen. Pam Roach said when West served in the Legislature, he made an inappropriate sexual comment to her about her teenage son. The newspaper also said a man claimed he was inappropriately touched during a pat-down search when West was a sheriff's deputy in the 1970s.


Through his attorney, Bill Etter, West denied the published reports

3. Oh, I agree...but these new allegations may or may not have merit.

They certainly don't approach the same level as his other actions.

4. John over at Americablog had some comments about this 'lady'

apparently she's a big ole homophobe and there is some pretty bad blood between her and the mayor. Not to defend him at all, but with all the bad blood, seems like she would have spoken up way before now just to hurt him if this had really gone down that way. As it stands, seems too much like a jump on the bandwagon so she can scream "see, I was right about all those queers" and get some milage out of it.
